We are delighted to announce that joint Managers Craig Dore and Darren James will continue at the helm of North Leigh FC for the upcoming 2019/20 season.

Joining us last summer from Oxford City, they have had a very tough introduction to life in West Oxfordshire but ultimately achieved the incredible feat of surviving life in the Southern League despite a player budget that is a fraction the size of fellow league competitors.

Retaining only 2 players from the previous season, the hardest difficulty has been in developing a playing system with a whole new group of players, many of which have never played together. Results at the end of the season leading to the ‘Great Escape’ certainly showed promise for the future with the Millers showing playoff level form picking up 11 points from the last 5 games.

Craig and Darren will be desperate for a replacement to star man Henry Landers, scorer of 24 goals in all competition last season, whose move to National League-side Maidenhead United proves the potential of the talented youngsters the pair have recruited over the year.

With a huge growth in North Leigh’s youth development programme and a boost in the player budget for the upcoming season, the Managers are happy to continue building on the foundations they have put in place so far and are confident to be at least a competitive mid table side this season with quiet ambitions of putting pressure on the playoff spots.
